Meet Ruth

I’m a multi-racial woman of bold faith calling Texas home for over 16 years.

I’m 3rd of 6 kids to Linda, a white country girl and Andres, a black Puerto Rican. Both from rural farming families.

Growing up, I knew poverty, abuse, foster care and homelessness. I know what it is to be hurt, scared, hungry and literally fight for my life. I’ve seen my disabled parents and siblings struggle to survive on social security. Too soon, I lost my mother Linda, 5 year old nephew Jonathan, my nephews mother Serena and friend Winsome – all due to lack of access to quality medical care. Now an empty nester, I was a single mother that raised my two daughters from a relationship with a police officer plus three more due to the deaths of Serena and Winsome.

25 years ago I responded to an alter call that shared a truth; EVERYONE is either part of the problem or part of the solution.

My calling is to relentlessly fight for those who need someone to fight for them, to be part of the solution.

I went from being a 10th grade drop-out to earning my Bachelor’s in Business from Dallas Baptist University, Masters in International Management and am currently working on my law degree.

I’m a Human Resources Consultant, small business owner, and former business professor. I offer over 20 years of experience working with stakeholders to develop nationwide policies that balance business profitability, worker needs and legal compliance equipping me to do the same in public policy.

I live by a code of ethics to hold the powerful accountable regardless of party, wealth, race, or popularity.

I’ve walked the talk with my time and on my dime. I’ve volunteered thousands of hours over 16 years serving North Texas families and communities holding elected officials-of both parties-accountable.

    • I’m a whistleblower that’s lost over $1.8 million in wages fighting government corruption involving dozens of local and state officials, including Governor Abbott & Ken Paxton.
    • I’ve aggressively supported public education against vouchers and recovery of $88 million in misappropriated DISD school bond dollars.
    • I gained sponsors and bi-partisan support for two bills passed to improve safety across Texas from street racing after 8-year-old Olivia was killed in 2019.
    • I was involved with a two year housing project to learn how to build for equity and affordability.
    • I’ve also served with Meals on Wheels, various organizations serving pregnant & homeless teens, disaster recoveries, homeless shelters, and numerous outreach ministries.

I’m up against corruption in BOTH parties who want a puppet in this seat. I’ll honor my oath to God and country to defend against all enemies foreign and domestic. I’ll work to improve the lives of our families, our communities and our country.

Can I count on you to be part of the solution?

Join in rebuilding the walls of democracy to better fulfill the promise of our constitution.

Will you take THREE people with you to VOTE EARLY February 17 – 27?

Election Day is March 3.

Ruth has brought results for Texans including:

  • Public Education:
    • Ruth has been an aggressive public education activist in Austin against vouchers for years.
    • Ruth sought recovery of $88M in misappropriated Dallas ISD bond funds submitting a complaint to enforcement agencies. Subsequently DISD Superintendent Hinojosa “retired” & three trustees were not allowed to seek re-election.
      • Ruth’s report also disrupted non-profits illegally engaging in political advertising to gain school board seats for pro-charter/ pro-voucher candidates.

  • Public Safety: Ruth proposed legislation to stop street racing after 8 year old Olivia was killed. She gained sponsorship and bi-partisan support resulting in two laws  passed in 2021 protecting lives across Texas.

  • Housing: Ruth confronted mismanagement of HUD bond dollars and lack of housing discrimination legal actions by the City of Dallas which benefitted campaign contributors resulting in dozens of additional affordable housing units in downtown and ongoing legal action for records to enforce accountability.

  • Government Accountability & Worker Rights:
    • From 2014-2016, hundreds of DFW Airport workers were robbed of wages and benefits, until Ruth blew the  whistle and it STOPPED.
    • Ruth has lost $1.8M in personal income due to retaliation for fighting this government corruption.
    • The DFW Airport contractor, Heaven Marie Diaz, owner of Pursuit of Excellence Inc., was convicted in 2025 for just one of many illegal acts stemming from airport contracts. (See: US Federal Court,  North TX, 3:23-CR-00144-N).
      • The IRS and DOJ press releases and media coverage about the conviction fail to mention the employees Heaven Marie Diaz stole $3 Million in payroll taxes from were DFW Airport employees. See: Press Release

  • Ruth continues to pursue accountability for dozens of local and state government officials of both political parties including: Governor Greg Abbott, Attorney General Ken Paxton, DFW Airport Board and Executives, City of Dallas and Fort Worth Councils, Judge Bonnie Goldstein, Dallas 5th Court of Appeals and Texas Supreme Court Judges. (See: US Federal Court, North TX Cases in appeals process: 3:24-CV-1842-X and 3:24-CV-1843-B).
